The panels have been given a new look with Japanese lacquer work finish by a Canadian artist but still remains true to its colors of red and gold. Appropriately framed. These panels usually come from the frontispiece of a canopy type bed. Normally there would be a few more panels, but over the course of time the frames where these are placed deteriorate and some of them fall off and are lost. Luckily, these two survived quite intact. Very decorative.

Li Xiang Chun of Jing De Zhen, China specializes in Tibetan subject matter. He uses porcelain glazes in much the same manner as a regular artist uses his oil paints. Porcelain glaze is a coating on top of porcelain, usually a clear glass layer. The Tibetan mastif currently holds the record for being the world’s most expensive breed. It’s considered a spiritual entity by the Tibetans.
